About Candlelight Farms
A Family Farm From the Beginning
In 1840, the original farm was established as a working dairy farm. In 1937, Carl Dunham, Sr. and his wife Jessica purchased the farm, with the vision of creating a beautiful "get away" destination, that featured a full-service inn, an airstrip and, of course, a working farm. At an early age of 26, Carl Dunham, Jr. took on the responsibilities of overseeing Candlelight Farms, and continuing his father's dream for the property.

The late Carl Dunham Jr. devoted his life in creating his vision of Candlelight - a place of beauty, tranquility, spirituality and well being; where people can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Carl's vision has turned into one of the most beautiful and scenic locations in Western Connecticut.
